Lagos has a tropical savannah climate. There are two rainy seasons from April to July and then October to November. Temperatures get up to a pleasant 29°C, peaking in March.

The heaviest rains in Lagos fall from April to July so these months are best avoided. The best times to visit are in the dry spells between August and September then December to March.

Visit the Black Heritage Museum in Lagos. Founded by the Nigerian cultural commission, the museum preserves artefacts and records from the slave trade and gives a valuable insight into the country’s turbulent past.
